This Privacy Notice for Advark Digital Marketing LLC ("we," "us," or "our") describes how and why we might access, collect, store, use, and/or share ("process") your personal information when you use our services ("Services"), including when you:
Questions or concerns? Reading this Privacy Notice will help you understand your privacy rights and choices. We are responsible for making decisions about how your personal information is processed. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Services. If you still have any questions or concerns, please contact us at contact@lityapp.com.
This summary provides key points from our Privacy Notice, but you can find out more details about any of these topics by clicking the link following each key point or by using our table of contents below to find the section you are looking for.
What personal information do we process? When you use our Services, we may process personal information depending on how you interact with us, the choices you make, and the features you use. This is limited to information you provide in-app: your first name, your stated reasons for wanting to use distracting apps less, your preferred alternative activities, your conversation messages, and the apps you choose to block.
Do we process any sensitive personal information? Some of the information you share in conversations may relate to mental health, personal struggles, or emotional well-being. We do not collect special categories of sensitive information such as racial or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, biometrics, or government identifiers.
Do we collect any information from third parties? No. We do not buy or receive personal information about you from data brokers, marketing partners, public databases, or social media platforms.
How do we process your information? We process your information to provide and operate the Services — primarily to generate AI-powered conversational responses, manage your local app blocking, and show you weekly usage insights. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing.
In what situations and with which parties do we share personal information? We share conversation content with OpenAI (via our proxy server) so it can generate Lity's responses. Subscription transactions are processed by Apple. We do not share your data with any other third party.
How do we keep your information safe? We have organizational and technical processes in place to protect your personal information. Your data is stored locally on your device and protected by iOS security. Data sent to OpenAI is transmitted over HTTPS. However, no electronic transmission or storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
What are your rights? Depending on where you are located geographically, the applicable privacy law may give you certain rights regarding your personal information. Because nearly all data is stored on your device, you can exercise most rights yourself using the in-app "Delete All Data" control or by uninstalling the app.
How do you exercise your rights? The easiest way is to use the in-app "Delete All Data" control, or to contact us at contact@lityapp.com. We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us in the app.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you use the Services or when you contact us. The personal information we collect includes:
Sensitive Information. We do not request or collect special categories of sensitive information such as government identifiers, biometrics, racial or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs. We acknowledge that the personal reflections you share in conversation may touch on mental health or emotional well-being; that information is processed by OpenAI as described in Section 3.
Payment Data. Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store (StoreKit). All payment data is handled and stored by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment instrument number or card details. You may review Apple's privacy practices at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Application Data. If you use our application, we also may collect the following information if you choose to provide us with access or permission:
We do not collect mobile device identifiers, advertising IDs, hardware model, browser type, carrier, or operating system telemetry. We do not collect IP addresses for tracking purposes; IP addresses are observed only transiently as part of normal HTTPS request handling by our proxy server and are not retained or used to identify you.
In Short: We do not run third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking inside the Lity app.
The Services do not include third-party analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or tracking pixels. The app does not automatically collect device identifiers, IP addresses, browser characteristics, or location data. Aggregated usage information shown to you (such as your weekly unlock report) is generated locally on your device from your unlock history and is not transmitted to us.
If you opt in to "Help improve Lity" during onboarding or in Settings, anonymized conversation content (with your name and other personal identifiers removed) may be logged on our proxy server to help us evaluate and improve Lity's response quality. You can opt out at any time in Settings.
In Short: We do not collect personal information about you from outside sources.
We do not buy or receive your personal information from public databases, joint marketing partners, affiliate programs, data providers, or other third parties.
In Short: We process your information to provide and operate the Services. We do not process your information for advertising, marketing, or profiling purposes.
We process your personal information for the following reasons:
In Short: We share information only with OpenAI (our AI provider) and Apple (for payments and app blocking).
The third parties we may share personal information with are limited to the following:
We do not share your personal information with any other third party. Specifically, the Services do not integrate with Anthropic, Google Analytics, Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok, or any other advertising, analytics, or social network platform.
We may also need to share your personal information in the following situations:
In Short: The Lity mobile application does not use cookies, pixels, or other tracking technologies.
The Lity mobile application does not use cookies, web beacons, pixels, or similar tracking technologies. We do not maintain advertising or analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any similar third-party tracking technology in the app.
Our marketing website at lityapp.com may use minimal functional cookies required for the website to operate. The website does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
In Short: Yes. Our unlock conversations are powered by OpenAI.
As part of our Services, we offer a conversational unlock flow powered by OpenAI's GPT-4o model (an "AI Product"). The terms in this Privacy Notice govern your use of the AI Product within our Services.
We provide the AI Product through OpenAI as our AI service provider. As outlined in Section 3, your conversation input, output, and related personal information are shared with and processed by OpenAI to enable your use of our AI Product. You must not use the AI Product in any way that violates the terms or policies of OpenAI.
Our AI Product is designed for the following function:
All personal information processed by our AI Product is handled in line with this Privacy Notice. Lity is not a medical, mental health, therapeutic, or counseling service, and AI-generated responses should not be considered medical or therapeutic advice.
In Short: We keep your information only as long as necessary, and most of it is stored only on your device.
Nearly all of your personal data is stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults (including a shared App Group container used by Lity's app extensions). There is no cloud sync, no remote database, and no server-side user account.
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
Your data is stored locally on your device and protected by iOS's built-in security features, including device encryption. Data transmitted to our proxy server and to OpenAI is sent over HTTPS (encrypted in transit). However, despite our safeguards, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information.
In Short: You may delete your data at any time using the in-app "Delete All Data" control, or by uninstalling the app.
Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information (for example, your opt-in to "Help improve Lity"), you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can do this in the app's Settings, or by contacting us at contact@lityapp.com.
If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, you may email us at contact@lityapp.com.
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. Because the Lity mobile application does not perform cross-site tracking and does not include third-party tracking technologies, DNT signals are not relevant to our processing.
In Short: If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Virginia, you may have specific rights regarding access, correction, and deletion of your personal information.
The table below shows the categories of personal information we have collected in the past twelve (12) months. The table includes illustrative examples of each category.
We may also collect other personal information outside of these categories through your in-app inputs (for example, the conversation messages and reflections you provide to Lity). This information is treated as described in Sections 1–3 of this Privacy Notice.
We collect personal information directly from you through your use of the Services. We do not collect personal information from data brokers or other outside sources.
Learn more about how we use your personal information in Section 2, and how we share it in Section 3.
We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not sold or shared any of the categories listed above to third parties in the preceding twelve (12) months.
You have rights under certain US state data protection laws. These rights are not absolute and in certain cases we may decline your request as permitted by law. These rights may include:
To exercise these rights, you can contact us by emailing contact@lityapp.com. The fastest way to delete your data is to use the in-app "Delete All Data" control in Settings, or to uninstall the app.
Upon receiving your request, we will need to verify your identity to determine you are the same person about whom we have the information. We will only use personal information provided in your request to verify your identity or authority to make the request.
Under certain US state data protection laws, if we decline to take action regarding your request, you may appeal our decision by emailing us at contact@lityapp.com. We will inform you in writing of any action taken or not taken in response to the appeal.
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
In Short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Notice. If we make material changes to this Privacy Notice, we may notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes or by directly sending you a notification.
